Due to my decision to cut down the amount of time I spend depressing myself with Facebook, I'm obviously going to need another outlet for my thoughts, creativity, and madness, lest I go back there and succumb to the wily ways of the narcissistic masses. I think here might do for the time being...
Why do I hate Facebook so much? The clue is in the last three words of the previous paragraph. Facebook used to be about keeping in contact with friends and relatives, but lately it's turned into a narcissist's paradise of 'me, me, me' everywhere you look.
Friend-collecting is at an all-time high, even to the point where people don't know who the majority of their own 'friends' are, let alone talk to them. All the while still trying to add more people - apparently, the number of 'friends' you have is a measure of how cool you are, although it goes without saying that if you need a lot of friends to make you feel good about yourself, they aren't very good friends...
There are a select few who, like myself, aren't all about getting attention or keeping that 'rehash and reuse' wheel going on overused and poorly selected quotes - there are girls who post the "Just be yourself" stuff all the time, yet every time you see them, they're caked in make-up, with hair and clothes exactly like their 'real-life' friends... that's not 'being yourself', that's being a sheep!
Anyway, as I was saying; other than the select few who find joy in making others happy, there's the huge majority that just want to make themselves happy by being selfish, narcissistic, and big-headed*. Because of these people, there's no innovation, no inspiration, no creativity, no selfless actions, so on and so forth... and this is why I get depressed on Facebook.
The following image (someone else's rant) should give you a rough idea of how I feel about it...

Hardly an inspired first post but, onwards and upwards!
*How can you spot these people? Usually by the large quantity of selfies in their pictures folder, their vast amount of 'friends', their comments on a post will either mention themselves or be something that adds nothing to the post other than 'putting a word in', and they'll rarely post anything at all that's original... selfies is the biggest giveaway though!
